Disclaimer: The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a public program for children under the age of three who have or are suspected of having a developmental delay or disability. EIP is funded by New York State and county governments. Potentially eligible children must be referred to New York City's EIP by calling 311 to receive EIP services. New York Center for Infants and Toddlers is an approved provider of EIP services and under contract with NYS/NYC EIP to provide EIP services. All EIP services are provided at no out of pocket cost to parents. Health insurance may be accessed for reimbursement for EIP services provided. A child's eligibility for the program can be determined only by state approved evaluators under contract with NYS/NYC EI. If a child is found eligible for EIP services all needed services are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by NYC EIP. NYC EIP will arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child and family, to deliver services authorized by the municipality. When EIP services are delivered in child care settings or community locations that require a fee, the parent is responsible for paying any associated costs with such access to child care or community locations.
